Started in 1928, the original Taoyuan Irrigation Cooperatives established "Xinwu Monitoring Station" to facilitate member contacts, water management and distribution of water sources.
Established in 1924 and originally named "Xinwu Monitoring Station." A Japanese-style wooden house occupying an area of 363.64m² was built at No. 1221, Xinsheng Section, Xinwu Village.

1956, Renamed Xinwu Workstation.
Building and land: it was originally a Japanese-style wooden building. In 1967, a one-story concrete office was built (floor area 66.21m²). In 1978, a two-story concrete office was constructed (floor area 132.33m²). This was relocated to No. 2-1, Lane 241, Zhonghua Road, Xinwu Township on January 13, 1984. The land was owned by the association (land plot number 141-9, Xinwu Section, Xinwu Township, on reclaimed land from renovating No. 2 Pond of Lateral Canal 12, with an area of 24.4895 hectares). The workstation occupies an area of 1,062.10m² and has a floor area of 250m².
In 1996, the buildings were demolished due to the land readjustment of Xinwu Township, and another office was rented at Jiudou Village Activity Center in Xinwu Township, with plans to build an office after the readjustment in 2000.
On July 24, 2007, the office was relocated to No. 35, Xiazhuangzi, Neighborhood 4, Yongan Village, Xinwu Township, Taoyuan County. The construction of the new workstation started on April 20, 2006, and was completed on March 5, 2007. It has a total floor area of 486.8m², a building coverage ratio of 11.18%, and a floor area ratio of 21.2%. It is a two-story building with offices on the first floor and staff dormitories on the second floor.
When the workstation was first established it managed 23 storage pools for Lateral Canal 12 of Taoyuan Canal with an irrigation area of 1,863 hectares. In 1967, the connection to Hekegang Canal was completed and Hekegang Canal from Hukou irrigation area and brought under Xinwu Workstation. There are currently 34 storage pools with a water storage capacity of 5,820,000m 3, 50 river weirs and an irrigation area of 3,351 hectares.
