Since the early settlers colonized Dayuan, it has been an agricultural area and the main crop is rice. The farmland is vast and there is a great need for farmland irrigation and drainage. After the opening of Taoyuan Canal, the workstation was built to manage Lateral Canals 3, 4, and 5 to meet farmers’ needs.。
1928, Established and called Puxin Monitoring Station.
1954, Renamed Puxin Management Station.
1956, The original Dayuan Sub-workstation is upgraded and renamed Dayuan Workstation (located at Land plot No. 7913, Dayuan Section, Dayuan Township)
On October 10, 1977, workstation relocated to No. 2, Shengsheng South Road, Dayuan Village, Dayuan Township where it remains today.
The workstation has three administrative districts: Zhongli City, Luzhu Township and Dayuan Township and its initial irrigation area was 2,800 hectares. As a result of building the international airport, Zhongli and Dayuan Industrial Zones and the construction of residential apartments, the irrigation area fell to 2,400 hectares.
